ICEL9 Scientific conference – How to get there
How to get to the ICEL9 Scientific Conference
The ICEL9 will be hosted in the beautiful city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. In order to get to Utrecht, the closest airport is Schiphol Amsterdam (AMS). From inside the airport you can take the train that has several connections per hour to Utrecht central station. From there you can get to your hotel and to our Venue.
All the public transport can be accessed using the NS application on your phone. You can visit the NS website (https://www.ns.nl/) to check train, bus and tram times and to purchase tickets. Transport can also be accessed using your credit card. Public transportation is the most efficient way to move around Utrecht and we strongly advise our delegates to use it as car parking is extremely expensive and often finding a free spot to park can take hours.
If you are not using the train, but only bus and/or trams, you can also use the following website to get public transportation information: https://9292.nl/en
Renting a bike if the weather is suitable is also a good option. You can find more information on how to rent a bike here.: https://www.ns.nl/en/door-to-door/ov-fiets/how-it-works.html. Be aware you need an NS card to rent an NS bike. Please check other companies for renting bikes only for a few days if you do not have an NS card.
Note that the conference will take place in 2 locations. From Tuesday to Thursday will be on the University Hall in the city center and on Friday it will take place in the University Equine Clinic at the Science Park. The Friday workshops will be divided between the lameness examination hall, treadmill room, riding arenas and lecture rooms.
COVID-19: There are currently no restrictions when traveling to the Netherlands related to COVID-19. It is also not mandatory to use a face mask during the conference. It is always good to check the most up-to-date information about “COVID and traveling to NL” and “Dutch advice to prevent COVID“. We will update this page if the situation changes.
